What this site is. Ghost Town Trails is a reference atlas of historical places. It is not a guidebook guarantee: conditions, ownership, and access change, and records can contain errors. Verify access and land status before you travel. You visit any site at your own risk.

Respect for places and law. Nothing on this site is an invitation to enter private property, and nothing here authorizes collecting artifacts. Removing artifacts from federal land violates the Archaeological Resources Protection Act. Sites listed here survive by being treated gently.

Our content. The prose, design, and compilation of this atlas are ours. Underlying facts from federal sources (GNIS, Census, NRHP) are public domain. You may quote and link with attribution; you may not republish records wholesale.

Your content. If you post comments, check-ins, or photographs, you keep ownership and grant us a license to display them as part of the record. We moderate submissions and remove anything that encourages trespass, reveals sensitive locations irresponsibly, or is abusive.

Memberships. Ghost Town Society memberships bill annually via Stripe and can be canceled anytime; access runs to the end of the paid term.

Liability. The atlas is provided as-is. To the fullest extent permitted by law we disclaim liability for injuries, losses, or damages arising from visits to any location described on this site.
