The federal survey describes the site: Formerly located in western Scotts Bluff County
Post Office was first established here in 1871 or 1872 and named Little Moon, William Lancaster, Postmaster. The office closed in 1874 and reopened in 1886 and named Caldwell, after an early local resident.
