"Former Eskimo village or camp reported in 1847 as ""Tapkhakgmut"" by Lieutenant L. A. Zagoskin, Imperial Russian Navy (IRN), (Hodge, 1910, p. 691); listed as ""Ta-apkuk,"" population 42, in the 1880 Census by Petroff (1884,p.4)."
